"STOP ECONOMIC APARTHEID"

"STOP ECONOMIC APARTHEID"...Powerful words used by the COSATU Chairperson Mr Zwelinzima Vavi while addressing the members and everyone who attended the march at Johannesburg CBD on Wednesday the 7th of February 2012.
People showed up in large masses with the hope that the march will make some difference in their lives. The march was to protest against the toll gates and the labour brokers; they complained about doing a lot of work and being underpaid. Most of the people in the march complained that their wages is so little that they can't even afford to pay for their children's school fees.

Mr Vavi highlighted issues that most South Africans are often complaining about; poor transport system, exploitation of workers and he also added that the government is adding more problems than solutions. People feel that the government is taking from them instead of giving; it seems everything is being paid for but no one seems to know where all that money is going hence the majority of our population is unemployed, most government schools and hospitals don’t have proper facilities especially in the townships and rural areas.

If the people in Authority continue to turn a blind eye on these issues, the country will be faced with a catastrophe in the next few years. People are tired of living in shacks and places where it is not suitable for the human race to reside in. if the government doesn’t come up with an alternative solution that is effective and beneficial to all South Africans, strikes will only get worse and that will affect the education process and the economy in a negative way. This is the time to reflect and reshape our society.

  1. I agree with you beautifufz if a govournment continues to neglect the very people it claims to be representing you start to question what really is the agenda here, but in my opinion things have to get worse before they get better the working class need to get soo sick and tired of being poor, of working for nothing, of not being listened to, of being exploited and lied to that they stand together. as long as all people are doing is striking the govournment is happy.

  2. but don't you think that people strike because they feel it is the only way to get their message across?think about it, what other effective method can they use?
